If you are a post-leaving cert student or a mature student interested in exploring teaching, (Primary, Post-Primary, or teaching in Further Education), as a career, then this course is for you. The course offers a diverse range of modules to enhance your understanding of the Irish Education system. It also focuses on building the key skills: communication, critical reflection, and research skills necessary for educational settings.

There is also the option to take Leaving Certificate Irish at a Higher Level. This course also provides a wide range of subjects and provides a broad foundation in education studies which will really help prepare you for further study. You’ll find many options for progression, and many potential career pathways.

    DC009 BA (Joint Honours) Humanities with Irish (subject choice does not have to be Irish but will obviously help with entry to PME) and one other subject and then complete PME – Professional Master of Education: Primary Teaching
