Pre-University Politics & International Studies

Our Pre-University Politics & International Studies course will introduce you to how governments, parliaments, parties and elections function. You will explore topics such as human rights, conflict, global poverty, the environment, economies, and how national and international political institutions and systems work.

This course will equip you with the knowledge, skills and competence to engage with key cultural, political, social and economic issues. It also includes an opportunity to develop a working knowledge of Spanish and other subjects such as interpersonal and group behaviour.

You will gain an awareness of the centrality of politics in everyday life and an understanding of the range and diversity of political systems in Ireland and internationally. You will develop leadership and advocacy skills, learning how to build consensus and foster cooperation. This can in turn lead to many exciting careers, in politics, government, diplomatic services, humanitarian and global agencies, amongst many others.
