Automation and robotics are rapidly becoming the core of ‘smart factory’ manufacturing, where processes are undertaken by sophisticated machines, designed and maintained by engineers who have skills in the areas of mechanics, electronics and robotics. Our Automation and Robotics Engineering course opens a world of career options, including operation and maintenance of process machines, through to the design and manufacturing of automated manufacturing machines.

You will learn to analyse, design, and control the type of machines and processes that are used in a wide range of industries, especially high-tech fields such as pharmaceutical, computer and automotive manufacture.

This course can prepare you for progression both to process-engineering apprenticeships and to Higher Education programmes in many engineering fields, including Mechatronics, Automation and Control Systems.
